About Sandra

I began keeping this blog to ramble, really, and to keep friends up to date with my life.

Writing on a physical journal takes up physical space and cash (for the paper and ink) and isn’t very feasible right now. Besides, when I’m on paper, I tend to write letters.

I am a student studying in the SIM-UB Psychology (B.A.) programme, and have no intentions whatsoever of studying on American soil for now. Largely financial reasons. glorified unmarried housewife in Australia waiting for admission into a TAFE three more months to apply for a de facto spouse visa a job since my de facto spouse visa application was SUCCESSFUL!

At the beginning of each course module in each semester, the lecturer would invariably ask why we took the course. For most of us, it’s because it’s a required/free module slot we have to fill, and that’s why we are there. But at the start of the Fall’08 semester, it dawned on me that no matter how I came to be taking that module, I can find another reason why I should be enthusiastic in taking that module. I’m trying to apply that thinking to anything I do… which also means that the violin case in the corner is starting to stress me out because I haven’t been doing anything productive with it.

The lecturer would also ask what our aspirations for the future are. What would we like to do, who would we like to be? In Secondary School, I would say that I wanted to be a journalist – or foreign correspondent, to be more precise. After I started at UB, I’ve wanted to become a teacher, child psychologist, speech therapist, developmental psychologist, etc etc. Taking a Psychology degree opens you up to a whole new world, I’d never even thought that there were so many careers possible for a psychology student. Right now, I’d say “speech therapist” nothing is looming over my head.

Behind every great woman is a man checking out her ass, as they say, so do I have one. His names are Thrawn, Murloc, Petre, and Petridish. He’s usually by my side rather than behind me, and a little ahead in his steps to guide me. My partner is a man with a hippy commune living on his head, has a wildly varied family background, and is harbouring a secret crush for Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation fame. (That last bit is important because Yahtzee is slowly becoming a big part of our relationship, usually because he’s my imaginary “Aunt Agony” when it comes to dealing with my Murloc.)

You can also contact me at or in WoW on Gorgonnash (Alliance PVP) as Raiien.

Take care of yourself, little sandy. You know I’m always a phone call away. (= Will miss you, especially when I take a peek at that empty chair beside me. I will try and choke back the tears that threaten to overwhelm me when thoughts of you haunt me everytime I sit next to it.

Lol. I’m sorry, everytime I type something it sounds emo. >,<
