For The Toy-Catcher

Posted in Letters by Sandra on April 28, 2009

Dear Charmaine,

I’ve long heard of your prowess at catching toys out of those tricky machines at amusement centres. I am deeply in awe, and every time I see one of those token-sucking creations I think of you.

I was at Suntec City with Skyez last week. We were to have dinner with Ianz at Kuishinbo, which was right next to the arcade on the fourth level. Oh, how it blazed with glittery lights and artless lighting! The machines were lined up neatly all along the walls, with a few circular ones dominating the playing field. As the two of us walked amongst these wealthy giants of shame and doom, Skyez whispered to me that you’d told all of your Friends that were they to see a toy they liked, they could take a picture, note the location, and send the information along so that you could go forth and (attempt to) conquer the Game of Toy-catching.

Apart from the fact that I was left out of this privileged group of Friends (which I suffered well in silence), I was excited. No, I was ecstatic! We danced around the amusement arcade taking pictures of the toys we liked, and I have narrowed them down to these few:

If you could perhaps take a shot at them the next time you are in Suntec City, I would be much obliged and in your horny debt of horniness… much like those Noblegarden Festival rabbits.

Yours with much love (despite the Strong Silent Suffering),

P.S.: It would probably help your bedroom space (and finances) if you lowered the prices of the soft-toys in your shop to a more realistic amount…

Doodly Doodlee Doodle

Posted in Quick by Sandra on April 28, 2009

After 2 years of not drawing anything, I picked up my (new) wacom pen and doodled something. (The old, original one got chewed up.)

It doesn’t look too bad does it? :)

Music and Change

Posted in Music by Sandra on April 28, 2009

You see, the thing about music is simply the fact that it changes as you grow. New insights, new meanings that emerge with more experience in life, and of course new tastes.

Take today for example: System of a Down.

I remember the first song I heard from them was Lonely Day and it was fantastic. Then Emmanuel tossed me a second song which totally turned me off that band. Till this day (well, a few hours ago anyway) I thought that they weren’t quite as good as I thought… until The Murloc clued me in. He played some tracks for me and I was pretty stunned. So I’d just spent about half an hour searching for That Song which turned me off SOAD and guess what?

I couldn’t find it.

When I was in my secondary school years, I mostly listened to Japanese pop. Dare I say that I even despised English? I had English pegged as the inflexible, unfeeling language. Kind of ironic considering that my command of the English language is heaps better than my mother tongue and my dialect. Ouch. But now when I look at my brother (who blasts Japanese pop/anime music) I can only think about how… well, childish, it seems. After all, it’s not like you understand it, do you, in the little intricate ways that the native speakers of Japanese do?

When It All Started

Posted in The BF by Sandra on April 24, 2009

The Group

This is how I met Thrawnmalt – aka, The Murloc. According to the file info, this screenshot was taken on 4 November 2007 at 8.20pm.

It was after a few runs of Zul’farak. I was healing while either Garant or Groundburst was tanking… I think it’s Groundburst.

The guys wanted to use the ingame voice chat, which was pretty bad quality. At that time, I actually thought Groundburst sounded the cutest, and he was also the friendliest. I had the smallest crush on GB – it lasted for a day or two.

Soon after, I found Thrawnmalt stalking me in the Un’Goro Crater… :)

P.S. Anyone notices Thrawnmalt’s weapon, in contrast to how he’s decked out now…?

EDIT: Apparently I need to be more specific regarding Thrawnmalt’s gear: HE’S A HUNTER AND HE’S WIELDING A STAFF.

“But my spells, like Arcane shot etc… they require mana!”
